How Much Do You Know About The Brakes?
With the rapid rise of the e-commuting, people have more and more choices these days, you may pick an e-scooter by the speed, the miles, the load, the product weight or so on, but have you considered your brake? Do you know your e-scooter’s brake?
Our Kugoo e-scooters have different kinds of brakes - Disc Brake and Electronic Brake. While providing you with comfortable travel services, the safety of customers is also our focus.
Disc Brake
The disc brake is composed of a brake disc connected to the wheel and a brake caliper on the edge of the disc. When braking, mechanical disc brakes rely on the tension of the brake cable to make the brake pads in the calipers rub against and clamp the disc to produce a braking effect.
Disc brake features: It has high strength, can adapt to various riding environments, and has good braking performance. The only thing that needs attention is the care of the disc. They are inevitably heavier on weight, but while sacrificing weight, you get enough brake safety protection. Therefore, during driving and storage, we try to keep the car body dry to prevent the disc from getting oily, and at the same time try to keep the disc from deforming.
Electronic Brake
Electronic park brake is a technology that realizes parking brake by electronic control method. Its working principle is the same as that of a mechanical handbrake. The parking brake is controlled by the friction generated by the brake disc and the brake pads, but the control method is changed from the previous mechanical handbrake lever to an electronic button.
Electronic Park Brake (EPB) features: The parking brake uses an electric button, which is simple and labor-saving, and reduces the rider's operating intensity, especially female riders. When the automatic electronic parking brake is activated, the rider does not need to brake for a long time when the vehicle is stopped, which can avoid unnecessary taxiing of the vehicle. While this may ask us to keep our e-scooters away from water and wet.
Foot Brake
Of course, some of our electric scooters also have foot brakes. When you want to stop riding, you can directly step on the foot brakes and the electric scooters will stop smoothly.
